Custom dashboards
Special event?
For long trips and special events, we build a dashboard around the whole journey: the full route, day-by-day progress, live tracking, chat, and a leaderboard for everyone running along. Check out Deadskout's Run Across America for an example experience we built for the charity run across the continental U.S.
Questions
Before your first stream
Will streaming drain my battery?
About as much as recording the same run in Strava. A live session barely costs you anything on top of tracking the activity itself.
Heading out for a long one? Tap the battery icon in your live session to turn on Low Power Mode. Kailo reports your position less often to stretch the battery; all your viewers notice is your dot updating a little less frequently.
Do my friends need the app to watch?
No. Your link opens in any browser — no app, no account, no invite list. It's permanent too, so they bookmark kailo.fit/watch/yourname once and it works for every stream after that.
Who can see my stream?
Whoever you choose: public, your followers, your clubs, or unlisted — link-holders only. Sharing your heart rate is its own separate switch, so you can go live without it.
Your followers get a push the moment you go live.
Can I stream video to Twitch or YouTube?
Yes. Connect your Twitch or YouTube channel and Kailo sends your camera and your overlay straight there when you go live.
Two things worth knowing: video drains your battery much faster than a normal live session, and it's still in beta — so try it on an easy day before you lean on it for a race.
I already stream with my own setup — can I still use Kailo?
Keep the setup you have. Start a Kailo session alongside it — from your phone or the Apple Watch app — and your live stats become browser-source overlays you can drop into OBS or whatever you stream with.
Build and configure them in the Overlay Studio, which previews each overlay live as you set it up.
Does it work for rides, walks and cardio?
Yes. Pick the activity on your watch or phone and the stream follows, showing the stats that fit it — pace for a run, speed for a ride, heart rate for a cardio session.
What if someone misses it?
Every stream becomes a replay automatically. They can watch it back whenever — chat and cheers included, landing where they landed the first time.
Is Kailo Live free?
Yes — free to stream and free to watch, including the Twitch and YouTube overlays. You'll need a Kailo account to claim your link; your viewers don't need anything.
